WHO should do this assignment?

This assignment is worth a maximum of 10 points, which is enough to change your grade by up to one-half letter grade. By comparison, the Final Exam is worth 40 points. For most students, studying for the final exam is a better use of your time.

WHEN should you do this assignment?

By Tuesday December 2nd, you'll receive your final grade-point email, which will include information on whether the assignment will, or will not, help your grade. I recommend you wait until then to decide. This assignment is not due until the end of Finals Week (see below).

The Assignment

Instructions:

2. Write the essay (see below)
3. Upload the assignment for credit

Writing the Essay

Please use the following format

• This news report obviously touches on a key issue that is directly related to Psychological testing.
• Summarize the facts, relate it back to the key issue, and argue, based on your understanding, whether the state should, or should not, take this action.
• Essays are graded for grammar, style, clarity of argument, and ability to use technical terminology properly.
• Overall Length: about 2 pages (500 words)

Turning it in:

To get credit, you must submit the assignment via the course website. Please follow these instructions carefully:

Due Date: Saturday December 13th, 11:59pm

1. You will need your CSUSM login name (e.g. "jsmith001" if your name is John Smith) and your Student ID number (a 6 or 9-digit number)
2. Proofread your paper, and when you are satisfied, make sure you save it and then Quit the word processing program (If you don't save it and then quit the App, the last changes you made may not be uploaded).
3. Make sure the entire assignment is in a single file, and that you know which file is your final draft (check the time and date of the file so that you are uploading the right one).
4. Upload the file using this website: Submit Extra Credit Assignment
5. When you have completed the upload, you will get a confirmation screen. I suggest you save a copy of this for your records.
