Psyc 402 - Project Paper
Each student will complete a small research project and paper by performing the early stages of test development, using a small survey test (2 items).
All questions will be combined in one large online survey, which all students will take.
The resulting data will be provided. You will then individually analyze your test item(s) and write up the results. You will submit the paper in two parts: A Proposal and a Final Paper.
The length of these papers and the opportunity for detailed feedback on your writing style serve to meet CSUSM’s writing requirement for this course.

The assignment
FAQ: frequently asked questions
- Proposal: You will be uploading 3 things: your Word (or Pages) document, and the 2 article PDFs.
- Paper: You will be uploading 4 things: your Word (or Pages) document, your Prism file (containing a Layout with 6 graphs), and the 2 article PDFs.
- Since the figures are in the Prism file, you don't need to put the figures in your Document
- APA style: everything we've been doing this semester (including figures) has been in APA 6, so I recommend you stick to that. If you choose APA 7, that's OK, as long as you can do it well.
- Analyses: This paper is a bit unusual - you have 4 Analyses in the Methods section, and you will also have the Results from the 4 analyses in the Results section.
- Results: Your paper should have a Results section written using the examples in the APA Style guide (see examples on slide 1231 and 1238).
This section is similar to, but not the same as your figure captions. Your paper should include both.
