Psyc 465 - Spring 2014 - Neuropsychological Assessment Report Assignment
In this assignment you will write a sample NP assessment report using a variety of sources of information.
Before you start:
- You will need a computer that can play back M4V Video
- You will need working audio : Speakers or Headphones (preferred).
- A word-processor that can save in one of these formats:
- MS Word (.doc or .docx)
- Apple Pages (.pages)
- A calculator for z-score formulas
- Graphing software. GraphPad Prism is available for Mac and Windows in a free 30-day trial. Try GraphPad Prism
Materials:
- Assignment: Word DOCX format | PDF format
- Video: JM Video (M4V format)
- Notes, Hints & Tips for this assignment: Notes
- Articles for doing Raw, Scaled, T and Z-score conversions and predicting premorbid IQ: Articles
New! More Hints:
- For Trails and COWAT, please use the same methods we used in class in Exercise 2
- Trails: For calculating the Trails A and B scores (Tombaugh, 2004) please use Table 2 (p. 207-209): find the Mean(SD) which most closely matches the demographics, and then convert to a Z score using the formula Z = (RawScore-Mean)/SD. It would be possible to do it a different way (by using Table 3 and finding the Percentile). You should cross-check your results using this table, but please only include the number calculated from the formula and Table 2.
- COWAT: For calculating the COWAT scores (Gladsjo, 1999) please use Table 4 (p. 154) to convert your Raw score to a Scaled Score. Then use the equation in Appendix B (p. 163) to calculate the T score. You should also use the tables in Appendix C to check your work (the T score should be roughly the same) but please only include the value you calculated from the formula.
- NAART: For calculating the NAART score (Uttl, 2002) please use the 4th equation (p. 1129).
- Although the equation says (SEE = 1.69) please ignore this term (as it simply is a statement of the Standard Error, not part of the actual calculation).
- The equation will give you a Scaled Score (M=10, SD=3) which you must then convert to a Z score
Turning it in:
